I got back in touch with Muzi Jay Nkosi to design a new cover for Isis: My Sister, My Frenemy. And I have to say Muzi did a great job conveying the story of how different the Isis and E’steem are in this image.
I originally imagined this kind of image as the splash page of an Isis: My Sister, My Frenemy graphic novel. And seeing Muzi’s cover shows me it’d be a great way to open the story of an Isis comic.
In addition to Muzi’s awesome new cover, I’ve also refreshed the page layouts of the interiors for both the paperback and Kindle versions for Isis: My Sister, My Frenemy. Both books have new front matter, headers, and footers in the fonts of more recent Isis series books, and they have back matter listing all of the books of the Isis series that were published after Isis: My Sister, My Frenemy in 2013 so readers can get caught up on the series.
I really want to thank all the people on Patreon and Paypal for helping me get the funds to pay for this cover. It’s your support that allows me to put great covers like this on my books and help upcoming new Black artists like Muzi Jay Nkosi get exposure for their work.
I’m slowly working on updating all the hand drawn-covers I drew when I first started SJS DIRECT. So far I’ve replaced three covers on the Isis series and I’ve got four or more to update. Not to mention The Temptation of John Haynes and All About Marilyn. I’m always working to improve the quality of SJS DIRECT books and making them the best they can be.
I’m hoping the new cover encourages new readers to pick up one of the most fun stories in the Isis series and one that many enjoyed back in the day. You can Get your copy of the new edition of Isis: My Sister My Frenemy on Amazon.com in paperback and Kindle formats today!
