Captain America An Angent of HYDRA WTF?

  1. More than likely this is a publicity stunt. Someone at Marvel obviously wanted to make fan's head explode, and guess what it worked. But it is a cheap gimmick, and they run the risk of alienating fandom to the point where people just walk away. Along those line, it could be they are trying to lure those fans back who have walked away, with a gimmick like this. Either way it won't get me back, and probably not you either, Shawn. I gave up on "new" comics long ago, and for Marvel I pretty much just stick to the Jim Shooter era. I'm sure this Captain America will turn out to be the evil 1950s Cap, the Red Skull, a life model decoy, or a brainwashed Steve Rogers. Whatever. My Cap is someone who is a standup guy, and has the courage of his convictions. That Cap I guess only exists in the movies now. Such a shame.

  2. Yeah, I gave up on active collecting of comic books when I was 21. About superheroes, I mostly just watch the Marvel movies now. They just have too many complex plots that require collecting so many books, and the more I think about it, the less interested I am in main canon comics at all, and glad that I didn't actively collect. Nowadays the old DC Elseworlds or similar non canon Marvel are what is interesting.

  3. Why's Marvel on a mission to turn off new readers? We just had the reboot from Battleworld. That's at least two years worth of good stories coping with the aftermath. No need for so much trauma. Steve Rogers is Hydra? How about T'Challa's country being raggedy while he's running the premier space program on earth? I'm convinced Marvel's figured out how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
